(WGTD)---Eli Lilly officials weren’t kidding when they announced less than two weeks ago that they wanted to proceed quickly on construction of a $4 billion campus in Pleasant Prairie.
According to a news release from the village, the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission Monday night approved a preliminary site and operational plan for the pharmaceutical manufacturer. The approval allows for site grading, early footing and foundation work as well as the installation of utilities.
Initially, the Indiana-based company wants to add a pair of structures to the building the company purchased last year from Nexus Pharmaceuticals. A three-story office and manufacturing addition will go up on the building’s west side, while a single-story warehouse addition with four loading docks will be constructed to the north.
The project also includes an expanded parking lot.
The construction is expected to begin immediately, with the additions to be completed by March of 2026.
The project is eventually expected to lead to a total of 750 permanent jobs.
