The promise was to open during the summer of 2016, but the historic Belfry Music Theatre in Williams Bay will actually beat that by a few days when it reopens on June 10th after nearly 20 dormant years. The first four events will be music acts that will play on both Friday and Saturday nights. Back in 1964 Harrison Ford played in musicals at the Belfry as his first paid acting job at Wisconsin’s first summer stock theater. A familiar sound from the summer of 1964 will mark the return of the Belfry. American English is a Beatles tribute band considered by many to be the best will be the first to grace the stage of the Belfry this year. And all three June acts will be tributes…the others featuring the sights and sounds of Peter, Paul and Mary, as well as Michael Buble. Come July it will be contemporary jazz artist Jaimee Paul, whose debut album reached #1 on the iTunes music charts.
New seats and new sound system join the Belfry this season with stage drama on tap for next.
