70-Year-Old Kenosha Restaurant has a New Owner Who's Familiar to Many Kenosha Diners

(WGTD)---An iconic local restaurant has a new owner.

The Hobnob—located on Sheridan Rd. between Kenosha and Racine—is about to fall under the control of an experienced operator with a strong track record in the Kenosha area.

Kyihham Fazal and his family currently operate La Fogata and Waterfront Warehouse in Kenosha and El Camino Kitchen in Pleasant Prairie.

The Hobnob has been for sale on and off—the current owners contacted him this year indicating they were ready to sell.

Fazal—who lives in Illinois—stepped into the historic supper club for the first time last year. His reaction? "I said 'wow'---it was just amazing. Amazing feeling. Great history," Fazal said "I think it's one of the top ten supper clubs in the state of Wisconsin. That says a lot."

While Fazal says he’s not planning on making any major changes other than giving the place a bit of a facelift, his vision for the future includes a possible banquet hall and hotel on an adjacent lot.

This isn’t the first supper club Fazal will own. He already operates the Colonial House in the Appleton area.

Fazal was at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Somers Village Board where the transfer of the liquor licenses was approved.

The ownership change will take effect Friday.
