(WGTD)---Another data center campus may be popping up in the area.
The Kenosha Plan Commission is expected to review a proposal to establish a four-building campus at the corner of Burlington Rd. and 136th Ave. The site is north of where new Uline warehouses have been constructed.
The identity of the operator isn't known. The city--which has signed a non-disclosure agreement--is working with an engineering firm. A representative of the firm declined to comment when contacted Friday morning by WGTD.
Kenosha Development Department Director Tim Casey noted that it's not uncommon for data centers to "cluster."
Microsoft is developing a data center campus on land in nearby Mt. Pleasant once earmarked for Foxconn.
The operator of the proposed site in Paris chose the tract because of adequate power and water, Casey said.
The Plan Commission will review a rezoning request Thursday evening.
