2020 Kenosha Unrest Lawsuit Remains Alive

Dec. 17, 2024 noon

(WGTD)---As the year draws to a close, a lawsuit stemming from the 2020 Kenosha riots and demonstrations remains unresolved in federal court.

Anthony Huber was shot and killed and Paul Prediger was shot and wounded by Kyle Rittenhouse.

Huber’s father, and Prediger himself, filed suit against law enforcement agencies, claiming they created the atmosphere that led to the shootings.

In the latest ruling in the case, Federal Judge Lynn Adelman ordered the Kenosha Police Department to take the necessary steps to examine an unused server that is believed to hold video during the period from squad car cameras.

The city had balked, claiming the expense of hiring a third party to try to extract the files would be too burdensome.

Adelman, however, ruled that it was in the proper purview of the plaintiff’s  to request the videos.
